Solved BUG vs UPDATES

I am not computer savvy.

I have Vista Windows and installed some updates. I hadn't updated in awhile so there were a few old updates with the new.

Now I have these issues:

1. My computer will come on but the mouse won't move.
2. A keyboard appears on my screen (right under the box where I enter my password)

I don't know if I have a bug or if the updates did this. What does it sound like to you?

I'd like to do a system restore, but I'm not sure how to do that from safe mode. Can anyone advise me.

Your computer works in safe mode i take it?

Which version of windows do you have??

Hi headknocker,

Try pressing F8 after POST (the black screen with white writing ) and before windows starts loading.

That will take you to Safe Mode. Normally the system restore Help window will pop up.

If you have a preinstalled ( by the manufacturer ) operating system - you may find that pressing F8 brings up their recovery option screen - which will also likely give you the system restore option.
