hi thank you for the reply.
now when it comes to updating the bios. i extracted it and ran autoexec and it gave me 2 options. i choose option one to update the bios and it just flashes in a ms dos looking screen and disappears and thats it. does that mean that my bios is updated?

ok ive updated all of the drivers and am still getting the same bsod. ive read some of them and it says to try to disable bios shadowing. step-by-step how do i do that.
also ive been reading that i should disable the onboard graphics card seeing as i have another one that i put in and that they could be conflicting with each other.

any help would be appreciated!!

I googled my errors and this forum came up. This is exactly what is happening with my Gateway Laptop! It's SO frustrating because I usually have Photoshop and a couple of websites open (some with video).....so I'm wondering if it's video card related? Does your computer run hot? I've noticed my laptop runs very hot. I've updated til the cows come home and it's still crashed on me 3 times today. It tells me something about bad driver error on the blue screen. I've searched for drivers and it tells me I have the latest version. I've scanned for malware, nothing comes up.

I'm so frustrated with this. I have this laptop as a replacement on my old one, and I've only had it maybe 2 months...so this should NOT be happening! I'm going to call where I got it and see if maybe they will do something about it. But I'm interested to see what the problem is...I'd rather fix it than go through having to set up a new computer again.

Go ahead and open a new thread concerning your situation. This is something that you are very welcome to do. Although there are similarities, it becomes confusing trying to solve two PCs' problems in the same thread.

Re: Bios step-by-step, depending on where you are starting, the first step might be
getting into the BIOS.

At startup there will be some text at the bottom of the screen offering
three or four choices, BootMgr, Setup, Recovery Console, etc., this will
vary a bit by manufacturer. Next to each choice will be the key to press
repeatedly to boot into that choice. Once you get in, there may or may
not be a setting relating to BIOS Shadowing.

You might find this of interest, also.
