Browsing From Vista To XP

I have searched many threads and forums for an answer to this, but I still cannot find a solution.

I have 2 XP Pro and 1 Vista Ultimate systems on my network. Both the XP systems can browse each other's shares and administrative shares. Both XP systems can browse to Vista, but Vista cannot connect to the XP systems. I have Network Discovery, File Sharing and Public folder sharing enabled. I have turned all firewalls off.

I am trying to connect to the machines using \\PC_NAME\C$. I keep receiving the prompt to enter a username and password.

Any help will be appreciated, thanks!

Do you have password on account what are on XP Pro systems? When the prompt appear enter username and PASSWORD. I "couldn't browse any shared folder, what own account, that hadn't set up password, it just shows me error with some kind of unauthorized access, so I had to set that username password too, and then all works fine...

Yes, I have a username and password setup. I have tried both the username and Administrator. Neither one will work from Vista, but they work fine from the other XP machine.

I am not using shared folders. I am using administratively shared folder (e.g. \\PCNAME\C$). I am browsing to the entire drive. I just continually keep getting prompted for a username and password. I have no problems when going XP to XP, but when it's Vista to XP I have problems.

Are XP and Vista station in same network group? Mean Groupname..
A. sharing worked fine for me, when I work on Vista and Win Server 2003, I have no idea what's different between W. Server 2003 and Win XP professional in this way...

Also don't know why do you use exactly administrative sharing, just use basic sharing and set premissions. A. sharing is used for "invisible" sharing folders, right? Software can use that as well as user, which know the name of shared item...

Yes, all systems belong to the same workgroup. I'll to browse the the entire drive so i don't have to worry about sharing folders. I did setup a shared folder to test and I still have no success. I am wondering if SP3 could have caused these issues.

My Computer

Yeah may it could, cause I worked with A. sharing, when the SP2 was latest SP released by MS, also do you have SP1 on Vista system? May be that's problem... I try to search some answer on MS Technet, if Il' find something Ill post it here...
