boot manager

hi all,
can someone help me please, i have the following problem :-black scren with a flashing white cusor.
1,vista will not load says ,boot manager missing,press crtl,alt del to reboot,but when you do nothing,
it wont reboot,restore,reload backup discs,let me go to safe mode , just does nothing, help please

hp530 laptop
vista home basic

could it be softwareor hardware problem
i am sorry if this is in the wrong forum as i was not sure where to put it,feel free to move if wrong placed

Hi,

Do not worry, boot into your Vista DVD and click Repair (your computer) Let startup repair finish, then see if the issue is resolved. If this does not fix your problem, see this website, it has every step all on one page: Recovering the Vista Bootloader from the DVD - NeoSmart Technologies Wiki
