My computer states, Windows failed to start.Insert your installation disc and restart your computer. I did this and the following message appears.
File: \Boot\BCD

Status: OxcOOOOOOf

Info: An error occurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data.

Hello BuffyX, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Running a Startup Repair may be able to fix the boot error for you. Be sure to check that you have the CD/DVD drive listed first and the hard drive second in the boot order list in the BIOS settings.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Hi BuffyX,

Startup repair would fix 90% of the issue...thanks shawn.

I would like to add few more steps.
You can also try system restore if startup repair fails.

Since it is related to BCD (boot configuration data) you may try this article to rebuild BCD.

Good Luck.
