Hi all,

any fullscreen 3d app instantly crashes my system, giving the bluescreen. Im currently running the 196.21 drivers from nvidia because with the latest drivers the crashes occured even more often(at vista startup!). I tried a clean new driverinstall, didnt work.

Im working with vista home basic x64 and GeForce 9800 GX2.
If there is any more info you need, ask away, ill be ckecking in regularly.

Thanks for your time and expertise :p

Hello alexii
Go to C > Windows > Minidump, zip up the files and upload them with your next post.
You may need to save them to your desktop first.
When you installed the driver, did you use Driver Sweeper to clear out all the old drivers, if not, then it would be a good idea to try that first.

Hope this helps, good luck and post your results.

This is the bugcheck for your BSOD.

STOP 0x00000116: VIDEO_TDR_ERROR

Usual causes: Video driver, overheating, bad video card, BIOS, Power to card

As you have renewed the video driver, i think we can rule that out, although you could try different versions of drivers.
If you try other versions of the driver, make sure you use Driver Sweeper every time. (Use Driver Sweeper in safe mode, then normal boot to install the driver).

Check for overheating, not just the system, but in particular your video card.
Update the Bios, use a USB flash drive for this.
Check that your video card is getting enough power.

If you have access to another video card, this would save a lot of time.

I will check the other drivers on your system, but this will not effect the BSOD.

Hope this helps, good luck and post your results.
