Hi,
I'm kind of new to this so any help would be greatly appreciated.
My son has a Toshiba sattilite laptop with Vista Home premium 64 bit OS and somehow has really waxed it. When he tries to boot up his PC it he gets the blue screen of death. The info that is displayed is:
stop: 0x00000073 (oXFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0XFFFFFX6001BAOC30,0XFFFFFA600211C4918,0XFFFFFA60021C42F0)

VOLSNAP.SYS-ADDRESS FFFFFA6001BA0C30 BASE AT
FFFFFA6001B9A000, DATA STAMP 479198db

I've tried starting it in safe mode and several other modes but continues to go to the blue screen. Please help:)

Thanks for responding. I've tried starting with the recovery discs in the CD reader but it ignores them and I've tried starting in safe mode but not luck. Do you have any ideas?

I've done some research but all the solutions I've seen, so far, assume that I can get his PCup and running in safe mode but have been unable to accomplish that so far.

OK
Now, I do not think this is a harware problem, I think that its just software. If I am right this should fix it
Toshiba Recovery Partition & Hotkey + Instructions
If this does not work, download this, if you cannot you have a hardware problem (the computer itself)
Use Ubuntu Live CD to Backup Files from Your Dead Windows Computer - How-To Geek
You said that you have nothing to back up, so you do not need to follow those instructions. Just tell me if you can install this, if the hotkey does not work.
Try the first step first, make sure you are doing it right if it does not work. Once you install Ubuntu, you may lose the recovery option.
