blue screen

hi guys..
I am trying to fix a laptop.. it is getting blue screen.. things i did
1. Replace ram
2. Tried booting on safe mode/ last good configuration
both didn't work
When I put a windows cd for repair (windows XP Home) and boot from cd.. its goes on the window where I need to select 1.c:windows but when i select that.. it goes on blue screen again..
I removed the hard disk.. connect it externally and ran a chkdsk /r and chkdsk /f
then put it back to the laptop still didnt work..
..
Any thoughts and advise will be much appreciated ..

Look in C > Windows > Minidump, zip up the dump file and upload it with your next post.
You may need to copy it to your desktop first.

Didn't mean to be sarcastic but if you follow Vista Forums instructions with the dump files, they will be more than happy to work with you.
I had a similar problem with BSOD and ended up sending the zip files to Avast for them to research it and to date still waiting for their findings.
Hope you get your BSOD resolved!

ohh hi stoney.. I've put the hard drive in another laptop and boot from windows cd.. and got the same blue screen.. saying registry_error..
When I put another hard drive in the other machine and do the same process I can run the chkdsk.. I reakon its the windows registry completely corrupted..
Might go through the fresh windows installation after backing up..
