Hello all, i am a new user to this forum. I have been having troubles with "my Optiarc BD ROM BC-5500S". I've called Sony to try and determine the problem, unfortunately they only have free help the first 15 mins...usually they would like to drag on until time is up, after that i would have to pay 200.00 bucks to repair this! :( One thing they did tell me was, i have corrupted registry files...I purchased "registry mechanic" and it has found 157 errors that have been repaird...But still the drive is not working. I have looked up on the properties of this drive and it states that it is a CD-ROM drive, I know this use to play Blu ray's before once the computer was new... Please help...

Did it come with a CD with drivers on it?

Brandon,

Is it possible for you to re-install Vista?

multiple problems generally cannot be easily sorted out.

Not just that it might start working properly after a re-install.

I wouldn't recommend a reinstallation of an OS until we have established that the problem cannot be solved.
