I am stuck.
my computer started not opening when I power up. Sometimes I have the option to choose what mode to start windows in. it does not matter which I choose but as soon as things seem ok my computer locks up. now it starts in disk check mode and fails each time. when put my os disk in and boot from the cd and try the repair option it fails. I want to try and repair it and not loose all the stuff I have on the hard drive. I just tried the command mode and tried to run the sfc/? and any of the other options and it tells me the Windows Resource Protection cannot preform the requested operation. I have run the memory check and it passes. the BIOS is set to default. The CMOS is all correct. This started after I transfered 45 gigs of movies to a different drive. One movie hung up so I deleted it. I have tried everything I can think of. As on now only the keyboard, mouse, monitor and Ethernet, [10/100/1000] are all thats hooked to it.
NVIDIA Controls everything, all the drivers are up to date. My Windows Experience Score is 5.8 I am using Windows Home Premium, I have my C drive is 750 gigs, my second drive is 200 gigs. both with over a third free. I have a NVIDIA 680i LT motherboard, 2 GeForce 8800 GT graphics cards all running SLI mode PCI Express x16,CPU is a Intel Core 2 Quad q6600 @ 2.40GHz, memory is four 1 gig Corsair 1024 EPP PC6400 DDR2. Heat is not an issue. Twelve fans inside, 5 are case fans. Each HD has a cooler, the CPU has a giant 8 pipe finned and fan protection, 650 watt power supply dual fans 90mm. This thing sounds like a blow dryer when I'm gaming.
