Well,no this action is great. Children do not need to see this crap when attempting to find Disney.com to play a game.

Good for you MS:)

It blocks adults, which is my point. And I do use a different search engine.

Some poorly designed blockers also block things like 'breast cancer'. And I don't believe adults have the right to block adults from looking up cancer sites. Microsoft is the one with the problem, not me.

Actually, they have that right. Its their search engine, they have the right to filter/block/allow whatever they want.....

Just like on the forums I run, I dont allow certian subjects to be disscussed or brought up..there MY forums...dont like it ? dont use em...simple solution

Well here is the deal, the OP stated it blocked sexual content. Sexual content is adult content and it is blocked. Such is life. There are plenty other engines that will spit out enough porn to sink a battleship.

Yes, adults have the right to block other adults. In this land it usually is called the law. So key words such as breast gets tagged and blocked. That was their choice to use this as a tag word. No matter how hard any search engine tries it will not satisfy all.

Well, no, adults can only block certain kinds of adult material in the US, not all adult material from adults.

If those nations asked Microsoft to block it, well, I guess I don't have a problem with the blocking. But in the US, such blocking is unacceptable.

Myself, I don't use the internet for those purposes. I prefer NASA photos of galaxies.

Actually, they can block anything they want...like I satted earlier, its THEIR search engine...they can block what they want on it, even in the USA. There is no law that says you MUST allow anyone to search for ANYTHING. And, IMHO its perfectly acceptable for them to do with THEIR search engine what they want.

Like I stated earlier, I block certian subjects and disscussions on my forums. Am I censoring it, yup sure am...do I have the right to censor MY forums...yup, does Microsoft have the right to filter searches on THEIR search engine, yup.

Your private site is private. I have 5 blogs, and set them for single user, no comments.

If Microsoft's browser was create by a small or large group of people who wanted to control what their religious, or political, or other entity group looked at, they could do so.

But Microsoft doesn't have a private browser usable only by people who want things blocked, they have a browser used by millions of people. Its a public company, creating things for the public to use.

I guess we could discuss this forever, I doubt any of us are going to change our minds. So, I am going to drop it.

I see it as public company doing things they shouldn't, you all see it otherwise.

As for what MS can or can't block, they have the right to allow or not allow anything they want. It is the government that does not have the right, yet, to tell them what they can and can't filter. If MS wants to filter out Disney it is their right to do so. Same as Walmart has the right to sell or not sell whatever they want. We all know that google can and has blackballed sites for things like keyword stuffing. Just another form of filtering. Is that also illegal, cause if it is they'll be in bankruptcy court before the years out from all the lawsuits.

Just my thoughts.
