BEWARE OF PUP.Fbsearch Virus

Hi guys & gals,
This 'nastie' the PUP.Fbsearch, according to Malwarebytes first surfaced 2010-11-24

Last seen on2011-03-12

This was eradicated from my daughters dell 1545 laptop this evening (UK time)

A full AV scan was done.

Full malware scan Malwarebytes freeware

This deleted the intruders,> Restart Computer

Downloaded & used Ccleaner Piriform - Download CCleaner, Defraggler, Recuva, Speccy - Millions of users worldwide! freeware
To clear up.

Will do a scan this evening using eset (nod)32
ESET - Antivirus Software with Spyware and Malware Protection free online scan system.

This was caught in time, others may not be!
Please check your security & keep it up to date!

This will only go away IF we are all vigilant.

Agreed.
What a lot of people don't understand is that even if you aren't "alerted" by an AV or malware program, that doesn't mean that your system is clean. A regular routine of checking manually can help, and may find some things that you otherwise wouldn't know was there.

If I may, download and use Secunia PSI. I will tell you when your software does not have the most current update, to help pevent malware.

I think I am correct in saying that we both use Secunia PSI, and we have found it a 'must have' program, to assist in the overall security of our computers.
