Well my computer has been acting up weird and I can not find the problem.. my cpu is acting up and when any sort of video or game comes up it shoots right to 100% cpu usage..

I am thinking of just doing a fresh install ( I did it before without the cd but i forget how)..

Anyone have any other ideas on how to speed up my computer..

did virus scan. did adware etc..

This may very well be a bad codec.

Have you recently downloaded and installed a new codec pack? If so, uninstall it then download and install the Vista Codec Pack: Vista Codec Package Homepage (VCP)
