Hey. I've been looking at this forum for 2 days now since my laptop has done
imo the one thing I dislike. After my accident, I'm not as intelligent as I used
to be, so yesterday I went into msconfig to put my laptop in safe mode. Since
day 1 of having the laptop, I've never memorized my password, due to usage,
of fingerprints. My laptop only has the account Administrator and in safe mode,
am unable to do fingerprint shortcut with the laptop.

Is there anyway to get the laptop back to its original form?

restart the computer and tap "F8". when the menu appears, select "start windows normally" or "last known good configuration"

I know it sounds weird, but I tried that already. Like I was trying to get through
earlier, I forced my laptop into safe mode with the use of msconfig. I've tried
almost everything but still no help with F8.

Hello Laptop246, and welcome to Vista Forums.

If your computer is starting in Safe Mode all the time now, then you can use step 2 in METHOD TWO of the tutorial below to return it to a normal startup.

Thanks for the reply. I've been trying as many possibilities as I can. It seems the suggestions I get are for those who can go into the regular accounts. My laptop seems to be stuck in the password screen. I wish I could explain (in depth) the problem I am currently having to you guys. But due to the accident, if I sound rude or irritated, just tell me.

Did you set a password when the machine was first set up, have you tried leaving the password blank when it asks for one.

Don't know if this is any help I'm just throwing out ideas.

Yea. I'm like you and just throwing out ideas to help with this problem. I don't think I set up a password. I've tried nothing and pressing enter. One space, 2 4 5 7 10 and all of the combinations you can imagine.
I've even gone and borrowed a flash drive to use with the password reset, but an error occurs right when I press in a blank password or any password.

You might see if using METHOD THREE in the tutorial below to reset the password may help. In your case, you may need to create the reset DVD on another computer to use on yours though.
