I have played the first few maps of BF1942, when Guada Canal loads and I click on play - the game exits to my desktop and I get the windows error message that the game has stopped working.

I am not pc savy. I have recently restored my laptop to factory settings. Installed windows updates, latest Directx but cannot figure this out. Can anyone help--- PLEASE!

1942 is an old game, idk if it will run great on vista. its probably ur card. i remembered when i just used the standard port on my motherboard it would crash allot. if not it has somthing to do with the software or ur card is bottle-necking.

Have you tried running in compatibility mode? Run it in either XP Service Pack 2 or Windows 2000. It may run doing it that way.
