Battlefield 2 Deluxe Edition

Hello all, I am having a little trouble with BF2, and I was looking for some help.

I just installed Battlefield 2 Deluxe Edition onto my cpu and when I finally try to go and play the game, it comes up with an error saying:

"Please ensure Battlefield 2: Deluxe Edition Install Disc is in the drive, select OK and restart the application."

The correct disc is in the drive, and the disc is clean, and so is the cd drive. This same game worked fine when i had XP Pro 32-bit, but now it is not working.

If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks! ;)

Hello, Just want to bump this to see if anyone has come up with a fix for this. I just built a quad core 64 bit vista machine and I get the "Please ensure Install Disc is in the drive, select ok and restart the application" MSG. I have done all the run as admin., and changed properties stuff with the same result. I can run 2142 with no issues and it wants to run clean with no changes to the properties. If at all possible, I would like to get it to run without a virtual disc or no-disc patch. I really don't want to be considered a hack, and I do own the game (and miss playing it.....drag) I did sent a question to EA for there 24 response....... Yeah, a week and a half ago. What a JOKE!

Any input would be great!

Thanks! >MOB<Bone

Here again........ Was driving home last night and came up with an idea. I plugged in my external dvd burner/rom, and the game started no problem? It is IDE, so I'm guessing the SATA optical drives have some setting that the game do not like

Gott figure out what the setting is.
