Backing up the hard disk?

I need to back up the hard disk on my 2 laptops - each having Vista Home Premium OS (only file backup included, I need system as well). I have heard that some software is a 'pain' in Vista. Has anybody any experience or advice as to what I could use?

Hello Jldewooley, and welcome to Vista Forums.

The program Acronis True Image is a great program that I would recommend. You can try a 15-day trial version of it to see if you like it or not.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

This looks pretty good esp. for free. I have the Paragon Personal 9.0 edition for $40. The main feature it has that the free one doesn't is folder exclusion. You can exclude folders with large expendable files(like DVD images or whatever) from the backup. But it looks like this does everything you need including burning a bootable recovery CD.
