Back up of C: - Fail

Every time I try and do a Complete Back up OF C: to E:\ DVD, I get a message:
error code: 0x800703FO
I was trying to install Vista SP1 and It said I needed to do a back up first.
This is a bit frustrating and I need help...anyone know why!

Welcome to the forums.

I get nothing for that error code, but you cannot backup to a DVD as windows backup cannot back up to a non NTFS file system. If you don't have another partition on your hard drive or preferably an external drive, then I believe you will need to get a third party software to do this for you. Many here use Acronis TI.
