AudioEndpointBuilder

I am running 64 bit Vista Ultimate on an Asus P5K WS board with a E6750 dual core cpu.

The service AudioEndpointBuilder consumes 265mb of memory and 100% of one cpu most of the time.

I have googled around trying to see if anyone else has seen and fixed this problem, to no avail.

I can kill the service, but that is kind of brutal, and Windows restarts it anyway.

If someone has seen or fixed this problem, I would a appreciate a link to the solution.

Thanks

Instead of killing the service, why dont you just disable it?

press winkey + r and type in services.msc

in the services.msc box, find audioenpointbuilder, and right click it and click properties, and in the drop down menu, select disabled.

Here is more information on this service: http://www.speedyvista.com/services/Windows_Audio_Endpoint_Builder.php

And also if the above doesnt work, i found this thread on GOOGLE: http://www.sevenforums.com/performance-maintenance/1152-cpu-usage-100-a-2.html
