When I try to open .asx files in ie8 to stream media from a page, I cannot open it in directly in media player. Instead i get a popup to save the file with a message saying:-
The file you are downloading cannot be opened by the default program. It is either corrupted or it has an incorrect file type. As a security precaution, it is reccomended that you cancel the download.
Can anyone help me fix this so that the files will stream directly to media player. At the moment I have to save the file and then open it in media player to start the stream.
