AOL vs AIM

you know, I checked out AOL and the email UI is quite nice. I used to have an AIM mail account, so I signed in and there it was.

How can I get it to default to @aol.com as opposed to @aim.com? both are shown, but it defaults to the aim address.

much like @live.com or @hotmail.com----they both go to same address inbox.

go to search
type default
in default check the default program

hmm..didnt work. you mean search within the mail program? nothing came up.

Go to search, by the start button
type default
in default programs set default programs
If you see your choice just check it.
If you do not see the choice, just post

If you are still lost, go to default programs, and then help. It shows you how to add programs that are not listed.

I think maybe I didn't make myself clear. The email address says @AIM. Inside the email program there must be something to make it shows as @AOL.

I am sorry, my friend, indeed I did not quite understand; try this

Click Start, Default Programs, and click Set program access and computer defaults.Click custom under choose a configuration. Click on the arrow on right.Under choose a default e-mail program select the program that you want to set as default
Make sure that your POP email is set up.
