anyone ever had this problem before?

I have a desktop running Vista64 suddenly it stops recognizing a connection or network? My ISp tech was here said the modem is working fine !!! my network adapter is fine according to the windows diagnostics too. but my system fails to connect to the internet? there is a netork there I have 3 laptops in my home that are running wirelessly..If I plug them in they , one is a recognize a connection, one of them is a vista 64 os laptop one is xp and one is windows 7 they all work fine but not the desktop it just stopped recognizing a network and fails to connect to internet? any advice would be appreciate !!! before I pack it up and off to the IT guy to spend some serious $$ most likely

Have you tried to uninstall your adapter and then re-install the adapter.
Are you on a wired or wireless connection?

the laptops are all wireless,and the desktop is ethernet aka wired, Networkadapter has been reinstalled, and connectivity check shows it functioning fine , system is not recognizing the isp modem which is also funtioning fine

Then your adaptor has died. You will need to purchase either a new wired adapter or a wireless adaptor which can be expensive...
