Antispy safeguard

Have just ended up with this annoying virus, my avg antivirus did not find it and now stops me from connecting to the internet and i cannot restore to an earlier point in time. All software available to remove states its free to scan then you are expected to buy. Can anyone advise on this combofix does it find it and remove it permantly or is it just a trial or purchase piece of software.
