Antec 900's, Please READ!!!

OK, So I just did a new build. I was going to get the Antec 900, but I went with the Cooler Master 690.. and I'm very happy that I did.. cuz my brother got the Antec 900 and it's been nothing but a Nightmare, wire management blows, the Power buttons are Ghetto..
So here it is, When you take the top off.. the way the power buttons are attached are very cheaply done, and then they are Hot Glued on with a cheap glue that snaps off very easy.. or it was on his, someone was sleeping on the job with Quality Control..

so, at some point of his build he broke the power button.. it doesn't work. so we've tried to re-attach it.. and it's not workin very well, the entire module is very cheap, he was very careful and personally I think it was broken from the Very beginning...

If anyone has an Old Antec 900 case.. or parts to there antec 900.. or anything like that.. Please feel free to PM me. I'm hoping to find the entire top part.. with the top 200mm fan. the power button and reset button and the I/O ports.. The Entire top. if anyone has an old 900 and would like to sell some parts, or make a lil money on there old tower they don't use... Please let me kno.

Huh...

This is the first time I've ever heard anything bad about the Antec 900 case.. I've heard nothing but good replies on that case.. Strange..

Anyway...I know 2 of my friends that use that case currently, and I know that they like to upgrade their PCs regularly...so I may be able to convince one of the two to get a newer case and let me salvage their top from their 900.

I'll pm you when I get an answer from them.

Cool, that would be great.. I'm in Las vegas.. and actually I'm not all that much pleased with it.. I don't like it much, it's GREAT for cooling, and thats about IT!

It's loud, it's a dust magnet, the PCI screws are difficult to get in, the slots don't match up so it's hard to completely plug in your Monitor wire. (I've read MANY problems about that) and now the power button stuff.. it's very cheaply made.. lots of these people probably didn't take there's apart or see inside like I did.. the power buttons are slid onto a metal part sticking out.. and then superglued on.. thats IT!!!! very easy to come off.. like this one did.

I'm so so glad I got the Cooler Master 690 instead.. I've had NO problems at all.. only thing I don't like, is the TOP mounted I/O ports.. but even then, it's still great!

but yes please get back with me on that ASAP!.

I txt'd one friend and he is keeping his case...he apparently really likes it and said that he wouldn't get rid of it...

Luckily he isn't the rich friend that has one >.> lol

I'm totally NOT a fan of the Antec 900 so far, and this model is the revised version.. they have a version 1 and a version 2.. so this one has SOME,not good but some holes for cable management.. and I'm really not all that impressed and I'm VERY happy I went with my CM 690 case.. its a great case.

I'm confused. Why would yo need to take the top off this case? I have a 900 and love it. Never needed to do anything with the top.

I believe it had something to do with the button that broke....not sure though..

And yeah, everyone that I've talked to with this case has also loved it......but people have different opinions ^^

well people love it for the Cooling, and the looks, I bet if half those people took them apart and messed with them, they'd have complaints also. well first off the top was taken off becuase we painted the inside a midnight black.. looks really good instead of a ugly grey metal color.. and had to take top off for that. and then yes like he said, Took the top off becuase a button was broken.. ya the case is cool looking, and it Cools amazingly well, but it wasn't made with the Highest Quality In my Opinion!!

not to mention the PCI slots don't match up, and getting a screw in the holes always requires a lil extra attention.. and putting in a HD is a little difficult.. Just wasn't the easiest case to work with, it works good, but workin with it is a different story.. plus i REALLY like my Tooless design. no screws required.. although it did come with many..

Have you tried contacting Antec? I asked them for an additional right side panel w/o the window because I don't like case windows. They sent me one for free and even overnight FedEx.

well I kno this was the holiday weekend.. but thursday night I emailed them and I still have not heard back.. so maybe I will by tomorro night after they get back from there 3 day weekend.. if not I'll be angry!
