another aero problem

sorry to post yet another aero problem but i have read quite alot of other posts and they just aren't really helpin. here is my situation, i have had vista runnin aero on my machine pre sp1 and when that update came out windows update did its thing and all was well. so when it told me to urgently update to sp2 i naturally clicked the magic button and poof aero has now disappeared and in the colour and appearance box im left with a rather ancient looking options box. i just want my pc to look all sexy and smooth again.
the wei is 3.3
graphics card is a nvidea geforce 8400 gs
can anyone please help

not sure if its related but i have also lost the preview of pages when using the alt+tab shortcut i now get this stupid little box

No thats Windows 7, click Windows Aero, then click apply. You got the right screen.

Sure - open up the start menu and then type cmd, then press Ctrl+Shift+Enter at once and press continue on the UAC prompt, or right click the cmd entry in the start menu and choose run as administrator.

Also run the diagnostics kit in my sig to see what drivers need to be updated.
