All files lost from a recordable DVD

Hi,

I am using Vista.
I cannot see any file in a recordable DVD! Although I can see the recorded vestige.(It showed "Drag files to this folder to add them to the disc.")
However, it can shows files in another recordable DVD.
Those two DVDs are burned at the same time, about just half an year, and I remember both DVDs burned successful.
Can you think anything wrong?
Only thing I did today was I followed the instruction of an antivirus program to restore a default setting (for DVD drive?).

Thank you in advance!

When I checked the Properties of the driver of the DVD, I found
Used space: 0 bytes 0 bytes
Free space: 0 bytes 0 bytes
Capacity: 0 bytes 0 bytes

Strange?

Sounds like the DVD has become corrupt.

Try it on another computer to test and then we go from there.

I've found discs that allow you to erase files on the disc to be ephemeral at best. I was using RW CD media with Nero InCD driver as a quick and dirty way to save source code. I learned the hard way when I could not read the disc even on the same machine a few months later. You stand a bit better chance if you format the disc, write it, and close it. No sessions. Even then I'd put copies on a HD in a drawer somewhere. I've had bad luck with USB also.

In my book disc and USB key drive is "use it if you have no other practical choice."
