after vista confirms to run .exe file nothing happens

i am trying to install diablo 2 as a mounted(w/daemon tools) .iso and when i run the setup.exe vista asks to allow or cancel the operation, i allow and the desktop flashes like its doing something but nothing happens beyond that. PLEASE I NEED HELP!! BEEN TRYING TO FIGURE THIS OUT FOR HOURS!!! :mad:

right click on the button toolbar and go to task manager to see if the application is running after clicking on it.. perhaps the file needs to be extracted first,,

it doesnt show its running in task manager...the file isnt in a zipped or comressed folder either so i dont see how you could extract, or should it be in a certin place on your system? i know some programs only work from the c drive

Sometines auntie-virus software can significantly delay a program executing and displaying itself.

You could experiment as follows:

1, Make an image backup of your system.
2. Disconnect your modem, and disable the AV and see if that helps.
3. Cancel install right away if the desired options appear.
4. Re-enable the aV. Reconnect the modem.
5. Restart the install and walk away from the computer, it might take a while.

AV- I think he is making reference to your antivirus program like AVG.. ok that might be that the iso of the .exe (DIABLO) is not right.. Normally this game is pretty easy to install.. are you log in on your pc as administrator.. I mean doesthe profile you are using have administrator permission.. try to install the same iso .exe diablo setup on another pc and see if it works this can minimise the concern that .exe file is corrrupted.. and can figure out other solution..

hey Howard!! Got something to ask.. completely different from what is posted.. What acronis version are you using.. i was using acronis 2009 downloaded the 2010 version.. like the trial version of 30 days.. but there is no image disk thingy on there.. can only find schedule your backup and stuffs..
Had you use the 2010 acronis??

TI 9 in Win 2000
TI 11 in Vista
Will be using TI 2010 in Win 7

Try reading the built-in Help and manual for the info you need.

i preformed the above tasks and nothing seems to have helped...so i guess ill have to find a different file

Ohh I been using acronis a lot.. but the 2009 version.. want to know how is the 2010.. I tried it but can't do direct image.. there is schedule backup task and stuff but not image.. "i an using the trial 30 days one" don't want to buy the licience before knowing if it really work fine as the 30 days one don't have the features I need..
