Hi DEvok,

Welcome to Vista Forums.

Most likely you will just need to right click on the program's shortcut and click Run as administrator for it to run properly.

The default administrator accounts in Vista act and run like a Standard account until a program needs permission (UAC) to run with administrator rights, then you can simply click Continue in an administrator account where you would have to type in the administrator's password in a Standard account.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

thanx but i have tried that and it did not do anything, i think i maybe not logged in as admin? but that cant be because there is only one account name and its used by admin, is there a way to disable the admin fuctions so all applications work for not just admin? thanx

EDIT i just did a all full controll in the properties section in msn and still does not work very werid.

I will tell you the last situation you might need. (just in case). If what Brink told you wont help, watch for volume C: in case you have some viruses there because when you format you pc, Vista wont touch any other folder than Windows, Program Files, and Users. Go to folder options and view hidden files and folders, go to C, watch for any unfamiliar program or file, run a full scan, and your r done. Or you can: run in safe mode and delete all the folders of C: and i mean everything rather than Windows, program Files, and users. Delete or backup files you need and then delete, run the DVD and simply format it. THAT definetly works.

Disable UAC. See if that work. Upgrade your apps you are having issues with. Enable UAC.

I personaly trust my antivirus, so i 've closed my UAC. I didnt liked it from the begining, so 1st thing i do after a format is to close UAC. Its security BUT annoying.
There is also a way to create a FULLY administrative acc which you can find here, but its not recomended.
