Solved Adding Password for Administrator

We just returned my wife's Compaq laptop to factor conditions. At one point it asked for pc name and password. She put in the pc name in but did NOT put in a password.

Since this is a laptop and does some traveling, I feel that having password to bootup is essential.

How do we add the administrator password now that the pc is up and running?

Although you did nota ask for it now, I do not want you to be in the situation that so many othrs experienced when they come to the Forum. Specifically, that you forgot the password or it no longer works and you cant get into your account.
