I have searched extensively on this issue and followed all the steps I can find to no avail; there were even similar issues on these forums, but those discussions are now closed.
I am on a Vista laptop connected to the internet via an ethernet connection which works perfectly. The problem arises when trying to set up a wireless ad hoc connection so that my iPod can connect to the internet too. I have done this, and this also works with low data intensive sites i.e. mobile google mail & mobile BBC news. However sites like facebook or BBC iPlayer can't load.
The ad-hoc connection is listed as "Unidentified network" and it's access says "Local only". Whereas with the ethernet connection provides "Local and Internet" access.
Is there any way to improve the ad hoc connection, preferably to allow it to also give "Local and Internet" access?
