A little Boot Up problem

I'm on Vista Ultimate 64 bit just so everyone knows. I have this small problem that I get every now and then randomly, when my computer is booting up sometimes it would sort of reset and start the boot process all over again, then I would have to choose how to start up windows and usually the option that says something like 'Last known successful configuration' is the one that works, not always, but most of the time. Also, sometimes it takes up to five or so tries to get it to boot up. I dunno why this happens or when it happens, it's just random from what I've noticed. Is it from drivers? I know it's not from spyware or anything because it happened right when I reformatted and reinstalled drivers once.

Hello Eryx24, and welcome to Vista Forums.

It could be several things that may cause this. You might run a Startup Repair if it happens again to see if it may find and fix anything causing it. If you have done any overclocking, then undo it to see if your system will remain stable afterwards. Check to make sure you have the latest motherboard chipset drivers installed. I would recommend that you keep good backups of anything you do not want to lose until you get this resolved in case you are ever unable to restart Vista without a clean reinstall.

Hope this helps for now,
Shawn

Hey thanks for the response.I'll run that and if it ever happens again ill report it. I havent done any overclocking, my motherboard has a feature which sets it up for 'Fail-Safe' and I have the latest drivers for my motherboard or any other hardware.
