55TB of imagery added to Virtual Earth during February 2009
With Microsoft adding <s>100TB</s>37TB of imagery in January 2009, the year started off quite low for Virtual Earth. February, was unable to reproduce such poor numbers: Virtual Earth's latest imagery release is 55TB worth of data, according to Virtual Earth, An Evangelist's Blog. While that doesn't break any records, this is still quite a large update when considering months in 2008.
The countries that will have seen updates are very few. This month, only Obliques (Bird's Eye View) have been updated, and just for Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden, the UK, and the US. On the other hand, the update to road information is extensive:
