45 mins to copy 1.2 gig

Hey guys

Quick question why is it in vista it takes a alot longer to copy files from my pc to my usb pen drive.

In xp is was really quick but in vista it takes ages????

Are you using the original version of Vista, without SP1? Slow file transfer and copy speeds is one of the issues that were addressed in this service pack. See the following link from Paul Thurrott for details: http://www.winsupersite.com/reviews/winvista_sp1.asp. Note the section 'Final thoughts' in which file copy issues are mentioned.

Did you try this?....
Start-control panel-Device Manager-Disk Drives-right click on ur usb-properties-Policies-Optimize for Performance.
Note: (if you use the Optimize for Performance settings) before you remove the pendrive from the pc you must click first on that little green/white tick (next volume) for safely remove hardware.
