3rd party sound card and vista

ive been having a problem with my media player and itunes...both are unstable.
itunes is split mono and WMP wont play most of my music files but will play in stereo!!..

this occurs only when i use a 3rd party sound card echo audiofire2..which i need for my DAW.

but when i go into ..sounds>audiofire2>properties>test..(with headphones),
i will get a stereo signal..with the echo card

seems like a conflict between vista x64 and the 3rd party sound card..
(i tried the echo card in a vista x32 bit machine..no problems)

any thoughts? thanks
