2nd display problem

I have connected my LCD TV (a Philips 32" LCD TV)to my laptop as a 2nd monitor and all was working well last nite.
Today when I turn it on I find the following:

With TV not connected to laptop - laptop monitor works fine
As soon as I plug the TV into the laptop the laptop monitor disappears and on the TV it says: "Cannot display this video mode, change computer display input to 1360x768 @ 60hz"

My video card will not go beyond 1280x800 so how do I tell the TV to use a lower video mode?

hmmm tricky but i know one thing... heres what i would do go to control panel-personalize-display settings.there you should see your monitor resolution with a picture saying 1 in a shaded box. if there is one go to box 2 and that should bring up the other display to use. NOW if you can move the slider to a resolution that works... otherwise im not sure sorry
