hey guys, i just got a new laptop, and whenever i have it plugged in the cpu runs at 100% even when idle. when it is on battery power the cpu runs like normal. i am getting this from the reliability and PERF. monitor on windows vista. also when it is plugged in the CPU max frequency is stuck at 50%. i have tried to change all the frequency settings on my power management but it will not go above 50% while plugged in. i already updated all of my drivers and my bios. does any know what this problem is and how to fix it.

update on the problem. it seems to only happen when the battery is charging when the power cord is plugged in and not charging it works fine.

This sounds like a sensor error.

What are you using to read it? The one that comes with Vista sucks. Download a good one, either Speedfan(60nm) or RealTemp (45nm)
