IE 7 keep crashing

Internet explorer is not able to resolve DNS or can't get an internet connection. Have you tried cleaning your cache and renewing your DHCP lease. Be sure to check your TCP/IP settings also.

1. Click Start/Windows Button
2. Type CMD in the start search window
3. CMD appears at top of menu
4. Right Click CMD select run as administrator
5. Type netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt hit enter
6. Type ipconfig /release hit enter
7. Type ipconfig /renew hit enter
8. Type exit hit enter
9. You may need to restart the PC at this point, it wouldn't hurt.
You may also want to do a full Winsock reset, if thats the case follow the above steps to get into command prompt, then type in "netsh winsock reset" hit enter, then type exit hit enter and restart the PC.

I just bought a HP Touchsmart and believe it or not there are 2 internet explorers. A 32bit and a 64bit. The 32bit was crashing the 64bit stable.

Ummm, yes, believe it or not, in 64bit OSs you have both 32bit programs and 64bit programs. The reason the 64bit IE is stable is because a lot of addons for IE don't support 64bit IE - so that IE is pretty well clear of addons.
Don't believe me? Try getting Adobe Flash player in IE 64bit....
The reason the 32bit IE *was* crashing is because it has a bad addon / corrupted addon somewhere - which is why I referred the OP to the IE Reset - it Resets the 32bit IE to run without Addons so that you can add them in again one at a time - and hopefully either be crash free, or else figure out which addon caused the crashes.

Try to disable all add ons for internet explorer & see if that works or not.

I had the same problem jblim, download and install the Firefox Browser.
Firefox web browser | Faster, more secure, & customizable
For some reason IE does that with the Vista Operating system, just download and save the installation file of Firefox and put an icon on your desktop, open install the file and "set" it as your default browser also "set" your ISP homepage. You will "still" will have to connect using IE, but once your homepage (In IE) loads, close the window and click on the Firefox Icon...........................Should help the crashing and pages will "load" faster for you.

Check using this tutorial to see if it is a add-on causing your problem. You may just need to reset IE7.

You might try a open DNS address as a test to see if that helps. This link will show you how to. After you select the type of setup you have (ex: Computer or with Router) and Vista for the OS, select Yes to view nonsecure information.
