Radeon 5770 & CMOS

Hi there,
I just recently installed a brand new Saffire Radeon 5770 into my tower (ASUS P5K Premium Wi-Fi AP mobo). A curious problem has arisen and I'm not sure if it could be related to the card or not.
Since I installed it, the machine does not display video at boot-up. I can see all of my USB devices initialize and hear Vista's "noises" throughout the process, and watch my HDD light flicker in typical fashion.. but there is no video.
If I pop out the battery and reset CMOS it boots up properly and shows video until I shut it down again, but then next time it does the same; boots without video output until I reset CMOS again.

Thoughts?

just a thought, but do you have the card installed in the pcie slot closest to the cpu? or if you have your card installed in the second pcie slot--the one closest to the bottom of the board--did you set your bios to have peg2 as your primary?

The card is installed in the first PCI-e slot located beside the CPU, it gets more airflow past it up there :)

Replacing the 3V battery on the mobo seems to have fixed the issue.
