Mouse Issues Causing Minor Irritations Help Needed

I noticed today my mouse causes strange behavior now and then such as click and hold titlebar of my browser and it maximizes it when i only wanted to move it a bit,click close button on say wordpad and some game mod zip file under the close button i clicked opens up,in my thunderbird email client when i click a message to read it a window opens with the message i clicked in it,and after installing three new games on my computer one of the icons i clicked and held to move it just started the game!No major problems so far,just occasional irritants throughout the day.Anyone knows what happened?How to fix this?

Edit 1:I clicked a zip file for a game soundtrack and then extract.When i checked "create a folder from archive name" and "Use subfolder info" the checkmark appeared then disappeared in each box i clicked.I clicked again carefully and the checkmarks stayed.Seems my mouse is VERY sensitive today for some reason!Oh,and i use zipgenius for the unzipping of the file.

Edit 2:I tried to move the newly created folder with the soundtrack files to my music folder and they did the second time.The first time i clicked and held the file it opened it.Seems my mouse has become Way to sensitive!

You might check the double click speed for you Mouse properties in the Control Panel to see if it may set to fast. If available, updating the mouse drivers may help as well.

I have the mouse double click speed set all the way to the left.So it's slow already.I set under folder options the option for clicking a folder to open only when i double click.That solved my problem when i click and hold a desktop icon it don't start the program or open the zip file.Don't know if problem solved,but we'll see.I'll be on the computer for a little longer and i'll see if anything happens.

Need to go to bed now,but first a few things that happened.

1.I had the control panel open and while looking over the installed updates list the control panel window disappeared behind my open firefox browser.I brought it back up and continued without further incident.

2.I changed my folder options so that folders and icons require a double click instead of one click to open or start.This mostly works,but when going through my computer folder and doing test double clicks through random folders on the c: drive,the occasional one click opens an item such as a game manual i clicked as well as a readme file.Doesn't do it all the time though.Choosing the double click folders option has minimized the problem not solved it.

3.I clicked and held titlebars to my browser and email programs to see what would happen.On firefox it maximized the browser twice while in between this it actually moved the browser window about as inteneded.Thunderbird acted normally.This maximizing also occured today with adobe acrobat reader when i tried moving a pdf file over to the right so i could view multiple files i had open.Clicking and holding titlebars to programs sometimes maximizes an open window.Not too much so far.It's not to the point of programs being unusable,just an occasional distraction and minor irritant.

This is so obvious, that I almost hate to even mention it, but in your mouse and touchpad customizations, if there is a control for sensitivity, you probably need to make them less sensitive.

Try a new mouse ...see if its the mouse that causes problem or the pc...

I tried moving some game pics i extracted to the pictures folder and had some problem.

1.When i click and hold a pic and drag the mouse across to select the other pics to drag all of them from the folder created by zipgenius to the pictures folder,after all the pics are selected a drag across only drags one pic the others deselect it seems.

2.I managed to get them across but noticed that my flight simulator folder with screenshots opened after i finished dragging the pics into the pictures folder.I had to drag the pics across that folder and an art collection folder i have.When i let go of the left mouse button my game pics ended up next to this folder.

My mouse and/or it's driver seems to be broken.Can't be a problem with windows vista or my pc as they seem alright and not acting strange,but who knows.I can try a new mouse and see what happens.I'm running my antivirus and antimalware programs to check and see if this may be some virus,worm,trojan,etc. related thing first.

EDIT 1:On scrollbars i just noticed that after i click and hold the scrollbar to move it down that i delays movement for a few seconds then moves.It also seems to deselect in mid move and i have to click and hold again.Only happens occassionally,not all the time.I tried it with my firefox browser,my music,and my pics folder.

EDIT 2:clicking a message in thunderbird every now and then opens the message in a new window.I started with the first message then went down the row.Sometimes every other message opened in a new window and sometimes i got through clicking on 2-3 messages with no new message window opening.

My avast antivirus program found a WalType.dll in c:\ProgramFiles\GOG.com\Patrician 3.
It says the file is Win32:Trojan-gen {Other}.I have no idea if this is a false positive or not.I'm going to post this thread in the security section of the forum to see if anyone there can help.
