Blue Screen Problem

My pc crashes seemingly at random points in the day, this morning it crashed 3 times and has not since. The info at blue screen is as follows:
STOP: 0x000000D1 (0x83A00000, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x8ABE4108)
e100b325.sys Address 8ABE4108 Base at 8ABD8000, Date Stamp 45ddde2f

I have no idea what this means or how to remedy it, please help!

e100b325.sys is an Intel network driver so try reinstalling that first , also update all you drivers including motherboard (chipset drivers)

It might also be a good idea to update to service pack 2 (your dump file shows your still running 1)

if you still have problems come back and we can have a closer look at your .dmp file (im a bit pressed for time at th mo :) )

and if you have anymore bluscreens pst up your .dmp files

ok updated the service pack, and updated all the drivers one by one. Has been fine and then went 5 mins ago, this time the blue screen showed

Its clearly a network adapter and driver related problem:(.

Bott up in safe mode and rename the e100b325.sys to e100b325.bak. you can find the file in c"\windows\system32 directory

Restart your computer in normal mode and check. It will create a new file named e100b325.sys.

If not rename e100b325.bak. to e100b325.sys.

also check you have any previous verson of the e100b325.sys. file.

System blue screened again about 20 mins after the original BS. Found the file e100....sys renamed it in safe mode, restarted in normal mode and found it had not created a new file so changed it back. Am running Bitdefender for Malware and it has not come up with anything. I am away tomorrow so will try to follow the rather long instructions for analising the mini dump - although it does look a little out of my understanding.

The BSOD instructions appear daunting, but just follow the procedure step-by-step and you'll be able to generate the dump analysis.

FWIW - this could be a driver issue with the network card, it could be an issue with the BitDefender if you're using the Internet Security version, it can be a hardware problem with your networking card, or it can be a problem with Windows.

hmm, ok i'll give it a go, I am using Bitdefender Internet Security 2009. I'll see what goes as I steadily work through it this morning. Removed 10 malware bits Bitdefender missed though.

no not having any luck here. No MEMORY.DMP file shows up. I have done a search for the file and selected to show hidden files, however I cannot locate it. The minidump file won't open in the debugging tool....Its turning into a bit of a nightmare. Please help. Here's another minidumnp file - worth noting that the service pack didn't complete as the pc blue screened again, so I have safe moded it and am downloading now. when downloading the servicepack in safe mode it stuck on 19% and allowed the mouse to move for a few seconds every 30 seconds. Taskmanager wouldn't open to see if the download was not responding.

ok will do, the machine is stuck on 1% of service pack part 2. I hope its not going to crash, been on 1% for about the last 2 and a half hours. I hope thats normal. The time out disk revolves and stops and after a short period revolves again, the light on the front of the pc is solid green, but usually if its doing something I can hear it click and wurr away. I know it says it must not be turned off but if it has crashed what happens?

Nifty little tool here (only for 32 bit systems tho'): BlueScreenView - View blue screen of death (STOP error) information.

It points to eb100b325.sys which could be associated with your Intel network card drivers.

Download the latest version of the drivers available from the Intel website
Uninstall the current drivers through Control Panel...Programs...Uninstall a program
Install the freshly downloaded version and test to see if it still Blue Screens.

updated intel driver. Used uninstall tool for Bitdefender and reinstalled it. So far so good.

think I might have found the solution to it, I was doing a search for something and I noticed a rogue Norton 360 file, have used the Norton removal tool and it all seems to be ok for the time being. I suspect it was a clash between Bitdefender and 360? Would this sound about right why it was bluescreening all the time?

Having 2 antivirus programs running is a sure bet to cause system problems (as is having 2 firewalls). Internet Security applications generally won't tell you about this conflict - and in most cases that I've seen they'll just mess up your system and won't leave any traces to tell you what's malfunctioning.

Needless to say, I do not recommend the use of Internet Security applications from any vendor.

It's the same error with this BSOD. But, both the Norton and the BitDefender can mess with your internet - so it's still possible that they were causing the issue.

Test the system by running it for a couple of days - if you don't get any more BSOD's, then you've fixed it. If you do, then we'll run another test to see if we can pin the bugger down.
