Solved fly out menu for all programs

I want to keep the Vista start menu theme , but i also want the old fly out menu for all programs (the one you get when you select the classic start menu option)

is there any way to do this and keep the Vista style theme?

Archie, as far as I know, you can only use the Vista-themed start menu, or the classic (win98) start menu. Unfortunately, there is no option for the XP start menu.

There may be other 3rd-party apps that could do this, but I typically don't use them. If they cause a problem, it is now in the hands of another software developer outside of Microsoft. Good luck if you find one though!

i suspected as much i thought if it were possible it would be in the tweaks section of these forums , as its not i assumed it wasnt viable but i thought id ask just incase.

Im not keen on third party apps either , especially for the start menu

Hi Archie,

I know your not keen on 3rd party apps, but the free Vista Start Menu program may let you have what your wanting to do though. If not, you can always just uninstall it.

edit......... oooooo i quite like it , it seems you just run the program and your good to go , start menu changed , if you want it back just stop the program. Its an app but nothings permanent!
