Lost file association in Windows Mail

Just after deleting Google Chrome and rebooting I lost the ability to click on links in emails (Windows Mail 6) to automatically open my browser, IE9. I get an error message telling me to create an association in the Set Associations Control Panel. I haven't a clue what file types to associate or if this is really the problem.
Anyone have this problem?

You could download and merge the URL option in the tutorial below to restore the default associations for this back to Internet Explorer.
