After IE9 upgrade windows mail missing items

I downloaded the IE9 upgrade because it was in the list for important upgrades to my computer. One thing I have noticed is that in Windows Mail after the IE 9 upgrade I have lost the bar on top of the of the e-mail that allowed me to view the pictures that I have blocked in options/security. I had to uncheck it to see any pictures in my e-mails. I also noticed that the paperclip for e-mails with attachments is missing, so any e-mails that I have with an attachment, ex. word doc, can not be viewed at all. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi welcome to the forum. Pretty sneaky of them to put it there. Those with automatic updates, did not have a choice!
Researching the problem & other forums for myself, when I had choice, I decided to go windows live mail, instead of the hastle.

Hello, Welcome to the forum.

Firstly, what I think The Windows Live Mail toolbar is very much there... it's simply been hidden from view. In the attempt to make things a little easy, Microsoft has ended up doing the opposite.

Anyway, to get the Windows Live Mail toolbar, you just need to 'show' (or unhide) it. Do you see three small icons near the top right? Click on the middle one (or use the ALT-M key combination) and select "Show menu bar". That's it! The menubar appears with "File", "Edit", "View"...

After playing around with windows mail I found that if I double click on the e-mail that has the pics in it it will open another window which has the some pictures have been block bar on top of the e-mail, then just click on it to view pictures. Same thing goes with attachments double click on the e-mail with the attachment, it will open up a new one and you wil see the attachement in the header, open that up and you can view it. If it is a pdf you done't have to save it to your desktop and leave mail to view it, better than it was before. It's not that difficult to do and you don't have to switch to windows mail live.

When I decided to upgraded mine I did so as part of the whole combined windows live package.

Only, we talk about WINDOWS MAIL (no LIVE)

Here we have a problem with displaying some stuff like attachment icon where it should be (and where it's been before upgrade to IE9)...

Thats because you said you had the same issue.

I don't understsand your problem as the original issue isn't in live. All my attachments show properly in my live account with both ie and FF.

Can you try and explain a bit better whats missing?

You can try cleasring your cookies and cache, then reload the page

Why not send us some screen shots to further clarify your question.
Easier to look & be able to compare with?
I think you may find that eventually Wm will be no longer supported, only a personal opinion.

You right...

Here is a screen shot... In front (in box) is what it SHOULD look like, and in bottom you can see what it looks after installing IE9!

Instead of the proper fonts, the area now used the vgasys.fon, and the paperclip does not show if an email has an attachment, and the bar that allows you to click if you want to see the images in an email does not show up.

And, this is WINDOWS MAIL (NOT Windows Live Mail!

I think that email doesn't have attachments... AND I think that email address isn't in your safe list.

ENSURE you have the ender in your safe list.

Your email warning is proitecting you, as the email has pictures linked in the email, off a seperate server. If you see the pics, your computer has accessed a possibly unsecure server and could open you up to viruses.

In this picture you have "normal view" BEFORE installing IE9 (on front of picture, edited and added to see a difference), and simmilar mail AFTER installing IE9 (bottom - full picture).

Just look picture WITHOUT inserted part, and you'll see BOLD

"From: PC Mail...."; "To: ...."
and on second row "Subject: Double Take Deals...."

Also you'll see blocked pictures on mail, and missing bar that allows you to click if you want to see the images in an email. This mail don't have attachment, but believe me paperclip does not show if an email has an attachment

Do you use Windows Mail on Vista (not Windows Live Mail !!!!), and are you install IE9? Just try yourself....

The toolbar isn't missing, as mentioned above... IE9 is designed for max screen space, sio the tool bars are tucked away.
I've used ie9 for 8mo now, but use outlook.

I really don't see the attachment issue, as that email shouldnt show it having attachments.

The blocked puictures are becauswe they are not attachments, they are in html, so you'd need to dl them to see them

Put that sender into your safe list and see what happens, as both don't show the pics.

Did you try in Windows Mail? I not talking about Outlook or Windows Live Mail.
@kesume: Did you try this in your Vista OS?

Obviously we need to wait Microsoft to fix this problem with Windows Mail in VistaOS....

It seems like you do not read messages... OK, here another picture...

Hope now you'll see where is a problem. If you have Vista, you have Windows Mail, so try yourself. Just send message with attachment, receive it in Windows Mail, and see! You MUST have installed Internet Explorer 9!

Because others with Vista and IE9 have a same problems, does anyone have any information? Does Microsoft know about this problem? Maybe some solution? Any information are helpful.

Hello Enes,

To short out the issue, I would suggest you to try the following steps:
It is not recommended to enable access to block attachments; we are just trying to narrow down the issue.

1. Open Windows Mail by clicking the Start button, clicking All Programs, and then clicking Windows Mail.
2. Click the Tools menu, and then click Options.
3. Click the Security tab, clear the “Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus” check box, and then click OK.
