Update made many fonts display poorly.

Well, I may be the only one left using Vista, but I can't upgrade to Win 7 (unless someone has some disks to send me), but apparently MS is still sending out updates. I just got an update today and it has played havoc with many of the fonts on the system. Anyone know why did this update make so many fonts act funny? What can I do about it?
