I've been having difficulties in updating my parents' Vista computer. I've found possible solutions, and everything was going well, until I encountered error 80246008 (I was following this video to fix it: Windows update error 80246008 fix - YouTube). I was following this person's solution up until the Background Intelligent Transfer part. When I right clicked on Background Intelligent Transfer and selected Properties, I pressed "Start." However, when I did this, an error came up saying, "The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion." Here is a screenshot of the message I got: http://i.imgur.com/WDZ0OPJ.jpg . If anyone could help me with this, I would be VERY grateful. This has been frustrating.
