I have tried to download and install the above latest update and
it always resulted in failed to install =
"WindowsUpdate_80070020" "WindowsUpdate_dt000"

If issue persists, try to follow the steps in the mentioned link to reset windows update and check if it works: Windows Update - Reset - Windows 7 Forums

Also run SFC scannow and check if it fixes any corruption, use the following link for detailed instructions: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/66978-system-files-sfc-command.html

Perform the steps mentioned in above link and post back the results.

First of all thank you Madhur B. for your immediate response. I also came across this " MicrosoftFixit.wu.LB.2528032364143292.1.1.Run " which I downloaded and ran. It did not fix anything because there is no problem with my Windows Live update

It's almost close to a year now and wanted to update this issue. Since then Windows update has been functioning well with the latest... but this particular update fails to install all the time. Do you have another source where I can get this within Microsoft... although previous Microsoft and HP tech support always suggested that updates be downloaded directly from Windows Live update [the safest way]. Or... should I just ignore it or hide it?
