My computer was doing an update a couple of days ago and it over heated or something and shut itself off in the middle of the update. I do not have a recovery disk or an installation disk, or a disk of any sort and can't use one anyway as the cd tray doesn't work. Now the comp just starts up and goes to a black screen and stays there. Tried in safe mode too and same problem.
I tried a system restore and startup repair and neither fixed the problem.
We put another comps hard drive in that is running Vista 32 bit (the one with problems is 62 bit) and it's ok.
Is there any way to fix the other hard drive other than a cd? Is it possible to use the 32 bit to somehow fix the one that's messed up? We can get into the files on the 62 bit with the 32 bit.
I'm going bonkers trying to fix this!
Thanks for any help.
