Hello,
I've had a dig about the site but could only find old threads relating to this issue so I hope I'm not adding an unnecessary thread.
I've an ageing DELL inspiron lappy thats running Vista Home Premium 32 bit. Its been running like a dog so I decided to do a clean install of vista using the reinstall DELL provided disc.
All has gone fine, its been updating like crazy but I expected that. However, Windows update has not picked up any of the Vista service packs, 1 or 2. I've hunted down standalone version of both on microsoft's download centre but I'm wondering do I need them at all?
Or if I do can anyone advise me if I its possible to get away with just downloading service pack 2.
Also, if I absolutely must download either SP1 or SP2, or both, one after the other, can anyone point me to where I can download them for 32bit Vista?
MS download centre advises against the SP1 if only downloading to 1 computer stating that a smaller more appropriate download is available via windows update? It might have been at one time but my machine aint picking it up.
Any suggestions guys?
Thanks,
Mike
