Windows vista home basic - update error 8024200d

Hi..

This the 1st time I go to technical forum for help. Wish me luck in understanding all this technical jargon. :confused:

I have a dell inspiron 1501 laptop:
* running microsoft windows vista home basic operating system.
* Version 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2 Build 2002
* Has a AMD 64x2 processor.

ERROR MESSAGE:
1 update not installed - error 8024200D

* What do I need to do to correct this problem ! When should i do a system restore is this necessary to correct this problem.

Error Code 0x8024200D is:
SUS_E_UH_NEEDANOTHERDOWNLOAD
The installer requires more data to be downloaded

Meaning .....Whatever you're trying to install, your machine needs some
other updates to be installed first.

So, what is that update that has failed to install ?
Post back with its name/description and its KB number.

It also can mean that another program may have interferred, so you may want to try both solutions.
