There is a problem but as stated don't turn it off just yet. If it finishes go to windows update a set it to notify you when updates are available and install them in small batches manually.

Yea bvtazman.. if its doing that its definitly doing something in the background.. it worth more to leave than try a force shutdown as vista is known too well of crashing windows if turn off during updates!!
